[Warning Series, Part 4] Do Not Get Shaken by Articles Which Are Meant to Misguide Us

Recently, Subahan Allah, I came across this article which stated that the writer saw a vision in his dream that he saw someone burning in the Hell-fire and upon inquiring he found the person to be Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), Nauzubillah.

Here is what he wrote in this Christian site, the link to this article can be found here:

I saw in a vision, the founder of the demonic religion of Islam in hell. I saw the one called “Mohammed” in hell, as he was burning in a pit of lava.

A demonic spirit walked over to him as he was burning, and then violently dragged him out of the lava by the top of his head. He fell to the dry, cracked ground in front of me. His skin was charred black with a very hard and flaky texture. Most of his face was fire eaten. The demon then grabbed his head again and began to crush it, as the man groaned in pain.

I wondered, “Who is this man?”

Then I heard the demon say, “This is “Mohammad.”

I was shocked. I never expected the Lord would show someone very famous like him to me. I looked into the man’s eyes and saw much fear and desparation to leave, although he will never leave.

Then the man said, “I have no rest. I made my followers to worship a demon. Allah is a demon. Jesus is God. Tell my followers to stop. They are following the way of death. I murdered for a demon. Tell them they are following the way to death. I can never leave here.”

Then I saw the Lord Jesus appear, emanating with such brilliant and beautiful white light that it is hard to describe. He then told me it was time for me to go back. Then the vision ended.

Then this person went into giving some Biblical references.

Before rushing into judging and criticizing this writer, let’s at first observe the vision. The first thing which intrigued me was that the body and face of the person burning in the Hell-fire was mostly charred which gives the solid evidence that the person burning was not Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), Allahu Akbar. There is a Hadith which states that the Shaitan cannot imitate the image of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) thus in order to deceive this person the demons or the bad Jinns which made him see this vision took the appearance of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) but with a burnt appearance since they cannot take his actual imitation. The Hadith goes like this:

Narrated Abu Qatada (Radi Allahu Anhu) that the The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, “Whoever sees me (in a dream) then he indeed has seen the truth .”

Reference: Sahih Al-Bukhari, Book of Interpretation of Dreams, Hadith 125

In their commentary on this Hadith, the scholars said that this is to be understood as referring to seeing the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) in the physical form that is described in the Sahih Hadith, for the Shaitan cannot imitate the form of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam).

But if the Shaitan comes in another form, whether one is asleep or awake, then lies and says, “I am the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam),” then this is false and does not count as seeing the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam).

The second aspect of the article which triggered my attention was that the one which answered the question of the writer regarding the one which was burning in Hell-fire was none other than a demon.

It should be noted that demons tend to lie a lot, especially the bad ones that is why cross-dimensional communication with them has been made Haram which also includes the usage of black magic, hex magic, fortunetelling, witchcraft and whatever activities which relies on the help from the Jinns rather than Allah.

Another additional thing which needs to be noted that demons don’t have any sort of chain of command in Hell as they will be burning in Hell themselves, many people, especially the Christians believe that demons are the lords of Hell-fire, however, we Muslims believe the ones inspecting Hell are in fact angels, just like there are angels inspecting Jannah as well all on behalf of Allah. The one who is in charge of looking after Hell and its Fire is none other than the Angel Malik (Alayhi As-Salām) and there are Hadiths and even a Quranic verse mentioning his name.

The Quran states:

Indeed, the criminals will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally.

It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair.

And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers.

And they will call, “O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!” He will say, “Indeed, you will remain.”

Surah Az-Zukhruf, Ayah 74-77 (43:74-77)

The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) even encountered Malik (Alayhi As-Salām) during his Miraj and he was the only Angel who did not smile while greeting him with a smile.

Anas Ibn Malik (Radi Allahu Anhu) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said to Jibril (Alayhi As-Salām): “Why is it that I have never seen Malik smile at all? He said,: “Malik has never smiled since the Fire was created.”

Reference: Musnad of Imam Ahmad (Rahmatullah Allaih), Shaykh Al Albani (Rahmatullah Allaih) graded the Hadith to be Hasan (fair) in Silsilah Al Saheeha.

Similarly, the one who takes care of Heaven is Angel Ridwan (Alayhi As-Salām). In Shaa Allah, I will be posting an article on Angels of Islam soon.

So those who claim that Hell is invigilated by demons rather than angels are clearly mistaken. Christians believe demons to be fallen angels but we Muslims know that this indeed is a corrupted concept. Thus this person, the writer of the article dreamt something which was bestowed upon him by the Shaitan and we know that Shaitan is capable of making us dream nightmares.

Narrated Abu Salama (Radi Allahu Anhu): I used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard Abu Qatadah (Radi Allahu Anhu) saying, “I, too, used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard the Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) saying, ‘A good dream is from Allah, so if anyone of you saw a dream which he liked, he should not tell it to anybody except to the one whom he loves, and if he saw a dream which he disliked, then he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil and from the evil of Shaitan, and spit three times (on his left) and should not tell it to anybody, for it will not harm him.’”

Reference: Sahih Bukhari, The Book of the Interpretation of Dreams, Hadith 7044

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: “Dreams are of three types: a dream from Allah, a dream which causes distress and which comes from the Shaitan, and a dream which comes from what a person thinks about when he is awake, and he sees it when he is asleep.”

Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 6499 & Sahih Muslim, Hadith 4200

Rather than criticizing this man, let’s all pray for him because we got people in the past who once bad mouthed the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) but later on went into becoming the best of Muslims, classic examples of such people being Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (Radi Allahu Anhu) & Abu Sufyan (Radi Allahu Anhu).

There are countless articles in the Internet which attempts to sham Islam. But my advice to those Muslims who read them is- “Do not get shaken with emotions by reading them”. I request all my Muslim brothers and sisters to take all these articles very diplomatically, get your facts right and if required politely mention to the writers the true meaning of your religion, who knows, they may even revert to Islam and whatever good deeds they do in their lifetime you will get a reward for it, Allahu Akbar, so be patient and be sturdy upon your religion, Ameen.
